Pop Quiz.

Are you as sad to see the Summer Olympics over and done with as I am? Have no fear! ESPN has a quiz to test all your knowledge of everything you've learned over the past 17 days of competition. Scandals, trash-talk and prophylactics! It's all covered right here.

How do you measure up?

(my favorite is number 26)

I nearly fell out of my chair again (who knew it could happen twice in one week?) when I came across this article.

Thank the Lord for Michael Ausiello and his never-ending love for all things Kristen Bell.

Seeing Double.

Who has the best headline graphic? SI.com or ESPN.com? I'm leaning toward ESPN. I like that they used a photo showing him right after he won rather than some generic photo from who knows what race? Although I did just notice the nice little black and white image of Mark Spitz up there on Phelps's shoulder. That's right.. keep reminding Mark how slow he's considered now and that he's no longer the greatest swimmer of all time. Sorry, Spitzy. I also like the nice fade on ESPN's photo. They only do the fade on special occasions so that's when you know something really big has happened. And it doesn't hurt that Aaron Piersol is right between Phelps's arms in the photo.

I'm a little disappointed with the headline, though. Not that I've come up with anything better, but isn't "Eighth/8th Wonder" a little obvious?

But I couldn't be happier that he just broke this record and made jaws drop around the world. Some people (that's YOU Katie Hoff) were upset about all the attention Michael Phelps has been getting during the games. But doesn't he deserve it? I think if anyone swims 17 times in one week, wins 8 gold medals and sets 7 new world records while doing it, then he should get all the attention that comes his way. Hey, Katie Hoff, why don't you try not to lose 2 races in 2012 and then maybe you'll get some deserved attention as well.

UPDATE:

Today, the day after all these events, the images have changed oh so slightly.
Here on ESPN.com we see Phelps hoisting the American Flag with his gold medal hanging in front of it. That's a nice image.

And here Sports Illustrated dot com has decided to extend their same image to take up just a little more room. (side note: This is how it looked early this morning, but I just checked it again and it's back to it's original slimmer format. weird).
