I'm a little disappointed with the headline, though. Not that I've come up with anything better, but isn't "Eighth/8th Wonder" a little obvious?
But I couldn't be happier that he just broke this record and made jaws drop around the world. Some people (that's YOU Katie Hoff) were upset about all the attention Michael Phelps has been getting during the games. But doesn't he deserve it? I think if anyone swims 17 times in one week, wins 8 gold medals and sets 7 new world records while doing it, then he should get all the attention that comes his way. Hey, Katie Hoff, why don't you try not to lose 2 races in 2012 and then maybe you'll get some deserved attention as well.
UPDATE:
Today, the day after all these events, the images have changed oh so slightly.
Here on ESPN.com we see Phelps hoisting the American Flag with his gold medal hanging in front of it. That's a nice image.
And here Sports Illustrated dot com has decided to extend their same image to take up just a little more room. (side note: This is how it looked early this morning, but I just checked it again and it's back to it's original slimmer format. weird).

I'm very surprised that both used the same title. I believe that I like the ESPN one, because it did include other people. Those people helped Michael to get his 8. I, like you, believe the addition of Aaron also makes it the the better.
