Brenda Hampton does it again!

Brenda Hampton, the creative genius behind the very wordy 7th Heaven, has come up with yet another preachy television show. I'm just going to get straight to it: The Secret Life of the American Teenager is possibly the worst show on television. Yes, I take into consideration all reality tv or any CBS sitcom, but folks.. this is bad. So bad that I can't stop watching.

The basic plot line is that a girl in high school gets knocked up at band camp. Yep! BAND CAMP! But not only does she get knocked up; she gets knocked up by the most popular boy in school who, get this, already has a girlfriend!! omg.

Ridiculous.

Three episodes in (this one entitled "I feel sick") and Amy the pregnant one is starting to show and has a fake boyfriend whom she's held hands with at school. I missed the second episode unfortunately, but it seems as though some people found out about Amy's fragile condition including her fake boyfriend - I don't even know his name - but lucky for Amy, he's totally fine with it. Right. As if a 15 year old guy would be so accepting of his fake girlfriend being with child.

But maybe this is a different world. A world where curfews are 9:57 p.m. and parents look an awful lot like struggling actors from The Dukes of Hazzard, Melrose Place and just about any 80's high school movie.

Who's in charge of casting?! A genius, that's who.

There's just too much to say about this show that my brain feels like it's going to explode. I had so many jokes saved up and actually wrote some down while watching the pilot, but sadly I've misplaced them all. However, I feel a weekly blog about this great program is in the works.

Stay tuned!
